Labratory unicorns

✨ Project Breakdown – Laboratory Unicorns and Pegasus for Icarus Development ✨
For this project, I had the exciting opportunity to bring a series of laboratory unicorns to life—along with a custom-designed Pegasus created specifically for the Icarus development. It was an absolute blast to work on, and I’m thrilled with how the creatures turned out!
🛠️ The sculpting process began in ZBrush, where I received incredibly helpful feedback that shaped the final designs. I’ll be updating this breakdown gradually, as there are still some key elements I’m eager to share.
After bringing the Pegasus into Unreal Engine, I encountered a few technical challenges—most notably with the high poly count in the wings. This was my first time tackling angelic wings, and it definitely pushed me into new territory. The character is part of a sci-fi game currently in development with the studio I’m collaborating with. I leaned into a stylized realism approach to find the right balance of character and believability.
🎨 For texturing, I crafted a series of procedural and hand-painted textures using Substance Painter. It took a lot of experimentation and iteration to get the look just right, and while I faced a few hiccups during the Unreal integration, the process was incredibly rewarding.
🎬 Animation finally complete was able to load it in unreal it turned out well still a great learning process super excited for more upcoming projects!
