Water Dragon- Unanounced Project

Water Dragon – Creature of the Deep | Concept for an Upcoming Project

For this week’s concept, I decided to explore a water dragon from the depths—a creature shrouded in mystery and power. I began the process in ZBrush, starting with ZSpheres to block out the basic form and structure of the dragon. From there, I carefully sculpted the details, layering in intricate dragon scales and delicate fins to bring the design to life.

Once the base sculpt was established, I applied multiple levels of subdivisions to add finer details, which really helped emphasize the textures and flow of the creature’s anatomy. One of the biggest challenges I faced during this project was retopology, which took quite a bit of patience to get right. Another hurdle was texturing—I went through several rounds of critiques that pushed me to refine my approach and improve the overall look.

Despite the challenges, I’m thrilled with how the dragon turned out. Achieving the look I had envisioned, especially with the intricate texturing and layered details, was very rewarding. I’m really proud of the final result and can’t wait to continue exploring more concepts and creatures in upcoming projects.

I hope you enjoy this water dragon, and I’m excited to share more of my process and next concepts soon!
